Vision Excellence in Norwest offers full scope fitting of contact lenses.
There are many types of contact lenses, and our optometrist can usually recommend a lens type to most people who need spectacles to see clearly.
We fit contact lenses of all types and our optometrist does not restrict our choice to just one type or brand or design of lenses. We have the expertise and facilities in our Norwest practice to fit soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, multifocal contact lenses and disposable lenses including single-use ‘daily’ lenses.
The type of contact lens that our optometrist recommends to you will be very much about you, your lifestyle and your needs. Whether you feel that you want to wear contacts most of the time, or if you only want to wear them occasionally, our optometrist will tailor a wearing and replacement program that is appropriate to your needs.
Many of our Hills District patients have moved into that “presbyopic” stage of life where a different correction is required for distance and near vision, and contact lenses are still very much a viable option. Our optometrist will be able to discuss multifocal contacts, monovision or even contact lenses for long distance in combination with spectacles for reading and close vision tasks.
We also offer orthokeratology (OrthoK) for suitable patients, for which our optometrist will prescribe and fit contact lens retainers that mould the eye while you sleep. Many of our Castle Hill patients have chosen this form of correction, which allows them to see clearly during the day without any spectacles or contact lens correction. Recent research even suggests that OrthoK lenses retard the progression of myopia in children.
