At Vision Excellence, many patients are referred to us to assess visual problems affecting people following major events such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) / head injury, stroke, haemorrhage or brain surgery.

Issues that affect the visual system require assessment and treatment by practitioners specially trained in this field. Issues can include:

• Diplopia (double vision)
• Partial blindness (loss of visual field, hemianopia, etc)
• Reduced visual acuity
• Impaired visual processing and perception
• Cortical visual impairment

What Can Be Done?

Every case is different. We will assess the type and severity of each visual impairment and tailor a plan to strive to restore the best possible vision and continuously support each individual patient. Our optometrist and orthoptist have had many years of experience in visual rehabilitation and work with other practitioners to improve outcomes for our patients.
