Macular Degeneration Awareness Week

This Macular Degeneration Awareness Week, 21 to 27 May, Australians are being asked to “Face the Facts about Macular Degeneration” and take steps to reduce their risk.

Since 2007, the Macular Disease Foundation  have increased awareness of macular degeneration as a disease by 53%, and this is an outstanding result. However there is still more to do with many Australians ignoring the eye health messages and placing an eye test low on their list of competing health priorities, putting themselves at risk of blindness. Our mission this Awareness Week is to get every Australian to Face the Facts about macular degeneration, and together with Foundation Patron Ita Buttrose and Ambassador Jean Kittson, we need your help to spread the word and save sight. Share the facts with your family, friends and networks and make sure they have all had an eye test and macula check.

This May, book an eye test and have your macula checked. Early detection can save your sight. Face the Facts about Macular Degeneration

• An eye test can save your sight

• 1 in 7 Australians over 50 have some evidence

• 50% chance if direct family history

• You can have the early signs without knowing

• Diet & lifestyle supports good macular health

To book an eye test call us today on 02 9680 9277.
